Make your job posting STAND OUT

“We’re looking for a passionate developer to join our dynamic team…” I bet you’ve seen that one before..

Most tech job postings are copy-paste regurgitated AI slop that tell candidates absolutely nothing about why they should work for you instead of anywhere else.

Stop with the meaningless buzzwords

“Fast-paced environment,” “wear many hats,” “rockstar developer” – these sort of phrases make experienced tech professionals roll their eyes and a lot of the time quickly move on.

Instead, tell them what they’ll actually be building. Are they optimising database performance for millions of users? Creating the frontend for a new fintech product? Specific details are way more important to candidates than generic enthusiasm.

Show your tech stack and explain why

Don’t just list “React, Node.js, AWS”. Explain why you chose these technologies and how they fit into your product strategy.

“We use React because our users need real-time updates” – this actually means something to professionals. And just a general “Must have React experience” tells them nothing about whether this role will actually challenge them.

Be brutally honest about your company stage

Are you a startup where everyone does everything, Say that.

Tech professionals appreciate pure honesty about challenges more than the generic corporate fluff.

The salary range isn’t optional anymore

“Competitive salary” isn’t great.

In 2025, hiding salary ranges just suggests you’re going to lowball the candidate. Post the actual range, and make it realistic for your market.

Your remote work policy matters more than perks now

Be crystal clear about your remote work expectations – fully remote, hybrid, or office-first.

Problems are more interesting than solutions

Instead of listing your amazing product features, talk about the technical challenges you’re currently solving.

These challenges are more compelling is than just “join our innovative team.” Again, it informs your candidates of the tasks they’ll be doing when they get to your organisation and the problems they will be solving.

If you’re using AI, make it human

Let’s be real. AI saves so much time with job postings and is extremely handy.

But your job posting is the first thing your candidates will see of your company that’s why it is vital you add that personal touch.

Use AI as a starting point, then rewrite it in your actual voice with real examples from your team.

The interview process preview changes everything

Tell them exactly what to expect – how many rounds, what type of interviews, whether there’s a technical test, and roughly how long the whole process takes. Respect their time by being transparent about yours.

The bottom line

Your job posting isn’t just a list of requirements – it’s your first chance to sell your company to someone who has plenty of other options.

Stop treating it like a legal document and start treating it like the marketing material it actually is.
